Techniques for FIT

  • Time management can be a touchy subject, so when working with your people, don't talk about how much time is spent where. Instead, talk to them about prioritization because separating musts from wants engages everyone.

  • One day next week, find something to compliment your people about every hour on the hour. No one will pick up on your pattern and the workplace will be noticeably upbeat.

  • Making technology help you do more with less effort requires an initial investment of time, just like hiring an assistant takes an investment of time before they're effective.

  • You need to remind your people "I expect you to make measurable progress in a reasonable amount of time" at the outset. Growth is a process, not a destination.

Being Human - Advantages

Advantages have a half life

Any marketplace advantage you own will be short-lived, so make the best of it while it lasts, while planning for its future obsolescence. Use your good fortune to get on to the next stage.

Random Stuff

There's something about AI

Balto-software

Last summer, my son David graduated from college and, after traipsing around Europe with friends, went to work. As luck would have it, he is selling software for a startup in St. Louis.

Sales! Something I know something about!

Or I thought I knew about.

Here's an article about the company in Silicon Prairie News:
"St. Louis-based Balto Software, is an AI technology truly changing sales."

So there you go. If you have a call center, it probably means something to you.

On a side note, I received a pair of these for my birthday:

airbuds

I'm wondering how long before a tiny earpiece like this uses AI software like my son's to make our in-person sales calls better by listening to both sides of the conversation and making timely, relevant suggestions?

Me out loud to myself: "It's not crazy to think I should get in on this."

Siri: "Okay, here's a recipe for getting rid of ants."

A second set of ears

Want an unfair advantage in your next presentation? Get a second set of ears. It's amazing what that does to move a conversation forward. https://calendly.com/chamberspivot
