". . .we said, look, we don't have a strategy, all we have is an action plan." – Jorgen Vig Knudstrop, on rejuvenating LEGO

There is a lot of advice on preparing for the new opportunities coming to the post-pandemic world. Most of them start with a statement like, we can't go back to the way things were, or reinvent your world. Here's the thing, we humans are not good at predicting the future. A lot of us don't have a clear picture of what will happen, or when it will happen. We have limited visibility into the future.
If this is you, double down your efforts on executing on today. I've been listening to a lot of coaches in the last 10 weeks. As one of them put it, focus on your people getting their reps in. Focus on the blocking and tackling while keeping an eye on the horizon. Repeating the detailed activities that will prepare your organization for future opportunities.
- It builds confidence.
- It builds momentum.
- It builds productivity.
As a growth oriented guy it pains me to say this, but it's ok to plan for zero growth in the next two years. Getting your company ready for the future is a growth strategy, and one that works.
Good stuff.
